Sometimes you catch them.

individual trade results are irrelevant

Sometimes you miss them.

individual trade results are irrelevant

Sometimes you get them… but underperform compared to the potential that was available.

individual trade results are irrelevant

Sometimes you're wrong (or in this case right but early… which is still wrong).

individual trade results are irrelevant

Here's the thing though..

At the individual trade level… it's all irrelevant!

Individual trade results do NOT matter, provided you haven't gone on a total meltdown and let a single loss get out of hand.

I've discussed this a few times:

And yet emails to me still show people concerned with individual trades.

Look at your trade results over a series of trades!

At least twenty!

Let the combination of win percentage and win/loss size ratio do it's job.

At the individual trade level, results are irrelevant. Just make sure the trade represents a good structural reward:risk situation. Manage it as best as you can. And move on to the next.

We're not here to win on every trade.

We're here to make good risk decisions.

And then look at the results over a series of trades to drive further improvement to your trading process.

Happy trading,
